Hospices de Beaune wines purchase

Each year, on the 3rd weekend of november we never miss the world famous Hospices de Beaune auctions. In 2014, 47 vintages from great burgundian terroirs have been sold by Christie's auctioneer. After the final curtain call, they are usually scattered all around the world after beeing vinified in Burgundy - this is compulsory. To close the auction time, the "Charity piece" is sold and the money will be donated to a charity association.

Great wines for a great cause, THIS is pleasant to Anima Vinum ! Since  2005, our winemaker snail has been participating to the auctions and has slowly made its way, acquiring each year with its joint-purcharsers more and more vintages. In 2014, le winemaker snail has become greater and is now positioned as the 3rd purchaser of the auction (in value).

Once we have bought the pieces, our vintages are vinified by an expert, a great taste-committed craftsman, during approximately two years :

The red wines are cosseted in fresh cellars of Francis Lechauve's domain L’Eveil des Sens. This passionate wine-grower lives and works in Meloisey, in the hautes côtes de Beaune. White wines, have been aged by Agnès Paquet in 2015.

During the course of the year, we collaborate with thos people, experts in wine-making to transform our acquisitions into real great wines, fine terroir wines as we like them. We rely on long term aging (approximately 18 months) and appropriate ones : for our white wines, we have chosen to break habits, dear to Hospices de Beaune's heart. The "100% new barrels" is our policy ! We chose to limit the woody taste and encourage tension and freshness. Our wines are aged in high quality barrels and demi-muids of "a wine" for an extraordinary authentic result.

To our eyes, the Hospices de Beaune wines deserve the best. In terms of dry matters, the bottles are carefully measured to ensure the best conservation's properties. We chose an elegant one, able to remind the elegance of the wine. They are wax-sealed, numbered. The cork-stopper is a natural one and has been manufactured by one of the best craftsmen. They wear a personalized label, mentionning the name of the (joint-) purchaser. The wine is conditionned in nice wooden cases.

What better conditions for re-creating the whole Hospices magic ?
